False CPS Reports Against Bo French – Part 2

Posted by |

A couple weeks ago DAT broke the story on the false CPS report filed against Bo French and his wife. It has been described as the dirtiest political move in recent Texas politics.

The suit describes a series of events which lead to the complaint, but one event in particular triggered the story – messages sent out by Constable Clint Burgess. During early voting Constable Burgess sent these messages, and others, out to dozens of people. Direct Action Texas has obtained copies of the messages from several sources. They are lengthy and available HERE.

While there are several demonstrably false statements in Constable Burgess’s messages, the French’s suit specifically mentions Constable Burgess’s claim that law enforcement had been sent to the French residence on numerous occasions for “domestic situations”.

When a member of law enforcement makes a claim like this, reasonable people believe him. As a law enforcement officer, Clint has knowledge as to whether or not the allegation is true. Surely a constable wouldn’t be spreading a demonstrable lie around, in writing none the less, right? Read More

Election Law In Texas Is Broken

Reform is needed in order to stop those who would seek to undermine our elections and disrespect those who have marched, protested and, more importantly, died for our right to vote.

Sullivan: “Don’t mess with Texans’ constitutional rights.”

donttargetmeConservatives are the bull’s-eye of weaponized government.  Nowhere was this more apparent than Lois Lerner’s deliberate attacks on Tea Party groups.  Until now, the full force of the so-called Texas Ethics Commission was a well-used weapon in that governmental arsenal.  Their latest misfire against Empower Texans will change that fact. The commissioners themselves are now targets of some serious scrutiny and legal action from the very group they tried to attack.

Michael Quinn Sullivan, founder of Empower Texans puts it this way, “Our lawsuit will hold these commissioners personally liable for their unconstitutional actions.  They tried to use us as an excuse to silence all Texans, and instead we will use them as a warning to anyone in power who tries to abuse the public trust. Don’t mess with Texans’ constitutional rights.”

The Case for Disunity

Posted by |

In politics the battle cry for “UNITY” is often heard. It’s an accepted philosophy that to “win” we must be united – The truth is NOTHING could be farther from the truth.

After all, politics is nothing more than the arena of ideas. As with anything, competition is a requirement for healthy outcomes.
