False CPS Reports Against Bo French – Part 2

Posted by |

A couple weeks ago DAT broke the story on the false CPS report filed against Bo French and his wife. It has been described as the dirtiest political move in recent Texas politics.

The suit describes a series of events which lead to the complaint, but one event in particular triggered the story – messages sent out by Constable Clint Burgess. During early voting Constable Burgess sent these messages, and others, out to dozens of people. Direct Action Texas has obtained copies of the messages from several sources. They are lengthy and available HERE.

While there are several demonstrably false statements in Constable Burgess’s messages, the French’s suit specifically mentions Constable Burgess’s claim that law enforcement had been sent to the French residence on numerous occasions for “domestic situations”.

When a member of law enforcement makes a claim like this, reasonable people believe him. As a law enforcement officer, Clint has knowledge as to whether or not the allegation is true. Surely a constable wouldn’t be spreading a demonstrable lie around, in writing none the less, right? Read More

Dirty Tricks: The Residency Game

Jay Harris is the Republican Precinct Chair of Precinct 4006 in Denton County. However, Mr. Harris doesn’t actually live in Precinct 4006.

Harris owns a property in 4006, where he is also registered to vote, but he actually lives in Precinct 1015. Precinct Chair is not a government position, and is certainly low on the totem pole of party officials, but the precinct chair is supposed to represent their neighbors in the area where they live.

Why should Jay Harris “represent” his precinct, when he lives on the other side of the city?

If Only Fort Worth had a Doctor

If Fort Worth only had a Doctor.

The City of Fort Worth is sick and has been for quite some time.  Unfortunately, we haven’t had anyone on the City Council that could address its illness.  It’s an illness that’s gone on for years, with the perpetual promise to fix it in the future, and yet here we are.  If only Fort Worth had a Doctor that knew how to treat and cure this disease.

Like most illnesses, you can take two paths when providing treatment.  The first is to just address the symptoms, usually making the outward appearance seem better.  Doing this only ends up masking the problem, ignoring the actual underlying issue.  Every illness must be addressed at some point, wouldn’t it be far better to cure the illness rather than mask it?

Charlie Geren’s Dirty Tactics On Display in New Lawsuit

Posted by |

Last year Charlie Geren had his most credible primary challenge to date from Bo French for the TX House District 99 Republican Primary. It was well known that Charlie was nervous and campaigned harder than he ever had – and with good reason. Now it appears he and his campaign may have used some good ‘ol fashioned tomfoolery in order to pull off a win.

Today Bo and Sheridan French filed suit against Charlie’s campaign staffer and well known democrat, David Sorensen, in a story that is very disturbing and challenges our sense of decency.

Political Repression – Alive and Well in Paxton’s Trial

Posted by |

Texas has a long tradition of political persecution prosecutions. We’re nationally known for them, as seen in the Wall Street Journal’s Editorial back in August. From Rick Perry to Tom Delay, and now Ken Paxton. Political prosecutions eventually lose, but their real goal is to ruin careers, and as to their success in that venture, the results are mixed.

What makes General Paxton’s case stand out is the degree to which the judges and prosecutors played an active role in abusing their power in the case – it has been a study in judicial activism. This author has filed not one, but three, judicial complaints against the actions of Judge Oldner, whose behavior in this case is beyond rational. You can read those here: complaint 1, 2, and 3.

In the Wall Street Journal piece in August, the editorial board makes reference to a document the board had seen which lays out how the case is nothing more than a political witch hunt. That document, AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE FIRST TIME HERE is a Motion to Dismiss which Judge Gallagher denied and blocked the public from seeing. This document leaves the reader with a complete understanding of exactly how and why this case is nothing more than a political inquisition. Read More
