Pelosi Messing With Texas?
In a media advisory released this afternoon, the Committee on House Administration announced a “listening session” on voting rights and elections to be held in Brownsville, TX.
This Democrat-controlled U.S. Congressional delegation descends on Texas next week.
The event is being held in Cameron County, the site of multiple voter fraud cases over the last several years. In 2014, six women were arrested on voter fraud charges and in 2015 another two were indicted.
In neighboring Hidalgo County, News 21 reported that people would “sell their vote for a 24 or 12 (pack). They don’t care. They just get the beer.”
The panel will include the following participants Rolando Rios, George Korbel, Gary Bledsoe (President, Texas NAACP), Chad Dunn, and Mimi Marziani (President, Texas Civil Rights Project).
It’s unclear if voter fraud in Cameron County will be a topic of conversation at the session.
Yesterday, the U.S. Congress took up H.R. 1, a bill with sweeping reforms meant to strip states of control over elections, a bill that would have the effect of limiting speech.
Is this delegation part of a plan to combat state-level efforts to ensure Texas elections are secure and fraud is minimized? Part of such an effort would entail maintaining voter rolls, actively opposed by the left.
Expect more attention from Pelosi and national Democrats as they work to exert influence on Texas elections.
The event will take place on February 4, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. at the Cameron County Courthouse Commissioners Court, 1150 E Madison St, Brownsville, TX 78520.
