Bipartisan Support for HB 2139

Due to the magnitude of the fraud Direct Action Texas has uncovered over the last 2 years, we have been calling for sensible reforms to come out of Austin. One of these is a bill authored by Representative Mike Schofield (R-Katy). House Bill 2139 would allow prosecutors to treat organized election fraud activity the same way it would treat other forms of organized crime, raising each penalty level one degree. Testimonies given in the House Committee on Elections revealed overwhelming bipartisan support.

Hill County Recount

Earlier this week in Hill County, State District Court Judge Lee Harris ordered a public recount at the request of investigators from the Attorney General’s office. It took place this past Wednesday, November 9th, just a day after many Texans went to the polls to cast their ballot for President. The recount is part of an ongoing investigation into potential criminal activity during the March 2016 Primary Election in Hill County.

Yesterday the State of Texas impounded the ballots and other election equipment from Hill County’s March 1st primary election.

 
Direct Action Texas has been at the forefront of the Hill County primary fiasco. (See original article HERE and HERE.) Hill County Elections and the Republican Party of Hill County would have you believe there is nothing to see and that everything has been resolved. The fact is they have publicly admitted the published results are incorrect. (See press release HERE.) What we see in Hill County is an attempt to sweep this entire debacle under the rug.
