Twist in General Paxton’s Case
The case against Attorney General Ken Paxton is complicated and nebulous at best.
The circumstances around the case are outright shady.
One of the questionable issues surrounding the case is the arrangement made with the special prosecutors just prior to Judge Oldner recusing himself from the case. Oldner entered into a pay structure agreement which is way beyond the Collin County rates, potentially leaving taxpayers on the hook for millions of dollars.
A Collin County taxpayer has sued challenging the ability to pay beyond the County’s rates, and this week the 5th Court of Appeals issued a stay in any further invoices to the special prosecutors pending the challenge to the pay structure.
This is a good thing for Collin County taxpayers. This is a good thing for process.
